2020 NEWSLetter

Message from the President
It's hard to believe that we’ve been working from home for the past 4 months! We hope you’re making the most of our ‘new normal’ and we’re all looking forward to the time that we can be together again.
Thank you to Alison Farmer, Chapter Past-President, for her leadership in re-establishing the I2SL presence in the Bay Area and setting us on a path to success. Thank you to the many I2SL committee chairs and volunteers for your dedication. Please reach out to me or any Board Member if you are interested in volunteering - we have several rewarding opportunities available.
A special thank you to our Sponsors for your continued support. Your support allows us to sustain our programs and give back value to our members and communities. Contact Terry Stelter and Jason Roth if you’re interested in becoming a new Sponsor.
The Chapter has been busy curating an array of diverse and engaging programs which we hope you’ve been able to attend (virtually). We recently co-facilitated two Town Hall webinars on return to work in research environments, and we’re continuously planning new events. If you have any suggestions or topics, please reach out to Katelyn Jeffcoat and Eric Knight.
We’re pleased to introduce this first edition of our I2SL NorCal Newsletter, delivering content directly to your inbox. Please also connect to our website (www.i2slnorcal.org) to remain up-to-date on local events and information. For any marketing or communications suggestions, please reach out to Sarah Pereira and Molly Watson.
Also new this year is our Emerging Professionals Committee. Orange Buensuceso will take the lead to engage the student community and emerging professionals in the I2SL network with programs designed to educate all of us along the way!
Our goal over the next year is to use the creative fuel of the Bay Area science community to drive our knowledge in sustainable and healthy laboratory design in a way that we can all connect, grow, learn, and belong.
